Deze bevat\u00a0gedemineraliseerd water en ureum (32,5%). AdBlue wordt gebruikt\u00a0in dieselmotoren en is buiten Europa ook bekend onder\u00a0de namen DEF, ARLA 32 of AUS 32.<\/p>\n<p>De belangrijkste actieve component van AdBlue is ammoniak.\u00a0Dit wordt langs chemische weg gevormd door hydrolyse van\u00a0automotive ureum, dat de belangrijkste grondstof is voor\u00a0AdBlue. Verschillende soorten ureum worden gebruikt voor de\u00a0productie van o.a. kunstmest en nog veel meer toepassingen.<\/p>\n<p>AdBlue wordt gebruikt in dieselmotoren die uitgerust zijn met\u00a0SCR-technologie. Deze technologie (Selective Catalytic\u00a0Reduction) reduceert de uitstoot van schadelijke stoffen (NOx).<\/p>\n<p>AdBlue wordt ingespoten in de katalysator van het SCRsysteem,\u00a0waar het een chemische reactie op gang brengt met\u00a0de ammoniak.
